Its not too late to get your Kai in the ground, to make the most of the sunshine hours and regular rainfall. Te Waka Kai Ora has had a busy few months presenting our Kaupapa at various Hui around the Motu. Our champion Percy Tipene presented to FOMA Conference in October 2009, and the Organic Sector Conference in Kirikiroa last weekend. Both successful and enlightening korero for the international audiences. We have just launched our first panui out to our growing community to keep everyone informed of the happenings with TWKO and the world of traditional agriculture. Minister of Maori Affairs Pita Sharples has launched the project Maara Kai to support Whanau to start growing Kai in community, Marae and Kura. Te Puni Kokiri is administrating the fund and we adivse that you contact your local regional office for more information. Our partner group Land Sea Sky and the whenua for the people project is underway and successfully connecting Whanau with their Whenua.
